The underlying principle of all ZCBF initiatives is that of self-sustainability. The ZCBF was set up as a facilitating agent meant to bring projects together with the people and funding to make them happen, nurture them to independence, then step back and watch them grow. This has not always been as simple as it sounds, and in the past this lead to the ZCBF becoming involved with the ongoing management of projects for extended periods of time, often becoming over-extended in terms of its resources. Over the past two to three years, there has been a strong focus on consolidation in the interest of the future sustainability of the organisation, and many of the early ZCBF initiatives and partnership projects are now operating independently.
Creche Christmas Party
The ZCBF had confirmed its good relationship with local people by arranging and throwing a surprise party for local crèche. The function was attended by 64 children, committee members and parents. Children were treated with goodies and presents whilst ZCBF delivered a talk on education and morals. Parents and Committee were not expecting any gifts for their children and thanked ZCBF for being generous to local communities.
